Welcome To NCCHP!

The NCCHP museum was founded in 2007 to preserve & incorporate the rich history of Granville and the surrounding areas. The museum is housed within the historic buildings of the Noble & Cooley drum factory. The buildings & original equipment at the site offer a unique opportunity to experience "Yankee Ingenuity" as it impacted manufacturing from the mid-1800's forward.

Dick and Tom have been working very hard on cleaning, sorting, and archiving over 150 years worth of treasures.  Check out the blog  that showcases some of their amazing finds...and more!  This month features pictures of the newly "restored" 1924 Model T truck that made it's debut in the Granville 4th of July parade.  You can see at the museum when you come for a tour. Check out all the cool stuff on the blog here.

 What's Happening Next at NCCHP:

The museum plans to re-open for tours (with Covid protocols in place) in September.

Tours will be available on 9/12 and 9/26 from noon to 3:00 PM. Masks required.

CANCELLED:  Sheryl Faye's portrayal of Eleanor Roosevelt on Wednesday, 9/8 at 6:30 PM will be moved to a date in 2022 due to Covid.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

CANCELLED:  Dennis Picard and the Ne'er Do Well band narration and performance of "camp music" on Wednesday, September 29th at 6:30PM will be moved to a date in 2022 due to Covid concerns.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

See the Coming Attractions page for more information about these great programs!

Note: All NCCHP living history events are free to museum members and free will donations from others of $5 - $10 to offset appearance fees are appreciated.  Light refreshments will be served after the program.

Our monthly programs are made possible in part by grants from the Granville Cultural Council and donations from members and friends of the museum.  Thanks in advance for your support to keep history alive!

Mark your calendars and join the fun!

 Covid-19 Update for NCCHP

After nearly two years of being closed the museum is guardedly optimistic about opening again.

However, given the nature and history of Covid we are closely following the latest guidelines and request that visitors use hand sanitizer before entering and wear masks to protect themselves and others when indoors.

At NCCHP we  are looking forward to safely welcoming our NCCHP friends, members and volunteers to take a step back in time again for tours and living history events at the museum.

Many of you have asked about the 2020 and 2021 membership drives and while May has traditionally been “Membership Month” at NCCHP it didn’t feel right to ask people for dues during a pandemic when finances are so tight for so many people.  If you are in a position to donate or pay membership dues at this time it would be greatly appreciated as we have monthly expenses to "keep the lights on".  If you need to wait or skip a year, we understand that as well.

Thanks in advance for keeping the museum and its mission alive.  Hope to see you and your families at 42 Water Street in the near future!
